Bucket Truck Accidents

Bucket trucks are trucks containing aerial lift devices that are most often used to repair electric lines. They are a very useful, very necessary tool in maintaining electrical lines, but can result in devastating accidents.

Bucket truck accidents can be caused by many things, including:

  • Faulty design
  • Poor maintenance
  • Improper use
  • Boom failure
  • Inadequate training
  • Failure of safety mechanisms

Bucket trucks are used to hold workers high above the ground to fix hard to reach equipment. For this reason, bucket truck accidents can be fatal. It is difficult to determine who is responsible for a bucket truck accident when one occurs, thus it is very important for an investigation be conducted as soon as possible. Those responsible can be the manufacturer, the operator, the equipment owner, the employer, or even the premises owner.

Injuries suffered from bucket truck accidents include:

  • Electrocution
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Broken bones
  • Death

Most often, bucket trucks are used at work, and you may be entitled to receive Workers' Compensation.

If you or a loved one has been injured or killed in a bucket truck accident, you should find an experienced attorney in your area as soon as possible.
